The Flash star Ezra Miller reportedly denied any rumors that the upcoming film will erase all of Zack Snyder's previous films from the continuity of the DC Extended Universe.

Miller's reportedly commented on the matter in a conversation on Instagram, a screenshot of which was shared on Reddit. "No power or force in any known megaverse would or could ever erase Zack Snyder's mighty wrkz," Miller said. "You can take that quote. Take that to the bank, to the press, to the schools, to the military, and the other pillar of capitalism I'm forgetting cause of that thing where you try to think of a group of things you always forget one of them."

The rumor recently began circulating online, alleging that The Flash would decanonize all of Snyder's previous installments in the DCEU, including the events of Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman and Justice League. Miller, who will reprise his role as Barry Allen/The Flash in his first solo film, appeared as the Scarlet Speedster alongside both Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman in those SnyderVerse films as well. While Cavill will not be reprising his role as Superman/Clark Kent in The Flash, Affleck is set to appear as his version of Bruce Wayne/Batman in The Flash, alongside Michael Keaton, who will reprise his role from 1989's Batman and 1992's Batman Returns.

Director Andy Muschietti confirmed in October 2021 that filming had officially wrapped on The Flash. Around that time, Muschietti revealed during a panel at DC FanDome in China that the upcoming film will hold its fair share of surprises. "We can tell you there are surprises, we cannot reveal what they are," the director said. "But it will probably blow your socks off...The less we talk about it the better. There's excitement behind the cameras about those surprises. You better not know them until you see them on the big screen."

While details surrounding the plot remain scarce, The Flash will deal heavily with the multiverse and explore alternate realities, indicated by the return of Keaton as well as an evil doppelgänger version of The Flash, which will also be played by Miller. In an interview last year, Muschietti explained that this storyline will be the foundation for future movies about DC properties. "This movie is a bit of a hinge in the sense that it presents a story that implies a unified universe where all the cinematic iterations that we've seen before are valid," Muschietti said at the time. "It's inclusive in the sense that it is saying all that you've seen exists, and everything that you will see exists, in the same unified multiverse."

The Flash races into theaters Nov. 4, 2022.
