The First Annual Hero Initiative Megacon Bowl-A-Thon

Official Press Release

LOS ANGELES, CA – Yes, we said bowling. You in the back can stop your snickering right now.

We're talking about Bowling, the legendary Olympic sport (imagine a decathlete on the plane sitting next to a 300 pound guy with the name MEL embroidered on his shirt)!

Bowling, made famous by Jeff Bridges and John Goodman in The Big Lebowski ("*$&% it Dude. Let's go bowling.")

Bowling, the only sport one can play in multi-colored shoes while getting blasted on cheap liquor and pitchers of generic beer (in fact, in some states, it is mandatory that you do so).

Bowling has finally come to MegaCon, in a way that no one could have imagined, or possibly even wanted.   On Saturday, February 17 th at 7 p.m., The Hero Initiative is offering a Bowl-A-Thon with some of MegaCon's coolest comics guests, like Alex Saviuk, Chris Moreno, Brian Pulido, Stuart Saygar, Rob Hunter and more!   In addition, you can win prizes, including original art, signed books and a DVD player!

You don't have to be a great bowler – because, after all, who among us is? – but all you really need to bring is the love of comics and a desire to support the only charity that helps support the men and women who helped build this industry.

Tickets are available on Ebay for $25.00, which includes shoe and lane rental fees. Go to http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300078475215 to purchase your tickets now.   Don't miss your opportunity to spend a night with some of your favorite creators throwing heavy things around at a bunch of other heavy things, all for charity!

The Hero Initiative Bowl-A-Thon will take place at the World Bowling Center, which is located at 7540 Canada Avenue in Orlando.   I-Ride Trolley Stops are Main Line 13 North and Green Line 06 South.

The Hero Initiative creates a financial safety net for yesterdays' creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life, and an avenue back into paying work.   It's a chance for all of us to give back something to the people who have given us so much enjoyment.   For more information, visit www.HeroInitiative.org or call 310-909-7809.
