When Sylvester Stallone announced Harrison Ford's casting in the upcoming The Expendables 3, he did so with a massive shot aimed at former co-star Bruce Willis.

"WILLIS OUT … HARRISON FORD IN!!! GREAT NEWS!!!!! Been waiting years for this," he wrote on Twitter, adding, "GREEDY AND LAZY … A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE."

The details of "greedy and lazy" went unexplained at the time, but new information has surfaced, thanks to The Hollywood Reporter. According to the website's sources, "Willis was offered $3 million for four days of consecutive work on location in Bulgaria." But the Die Hard star reportedly threatened to drop out of the picture unless he got $4 million for the role — a million dollars a day.

"Stallone and everybody else involved said no," the source contends. From there, Stallone reached out to Ford and secured his participation in the Expendables sequel.

The situation took place over the course of 72 hours, according to the report, and Willis is said to be "pretty surprised" to be replaced by Ford, described by the insider as "a better actor, a much nicer person and a more interesting direction for the film."
