A new teaser trailer for The Expanse has been released ahead of the sci-fi series' fourth season, which is slated to arrive on Amazon Prime Video later this year.

The trailer drops fans back into the world of the interstellar drama, showing off the cosmos and joining the show's character, both old and new. The whole thing is set against President John F. Kennedy's famous "We choose to go to the Moon" speech. Following a montage of intense action, the trailer ends on the line of "It's conquest deserves the best of all mankind."

In addition to the trailer, a new poster for The Expanse Season 4 has also been revealed by Amazon. The poster once again highlights the series' cast of characters against a cosmic backdrop, as well as reminds fans of the Dec. 13 premiere date.

The Expanse originally aired on Syfy, but was canceled by the network in May 2018 after three seasons. Syfy cited low ratings and high production costs as reasons for why the show was axed, despite its critical acclaim. Amazon soon picked up the series for a fourth season, with executive producer Naren Shankar noting that the show no longer had content restrictions and would film natively in 4K UHD. Amazon has already renewed the series for a fifth season.
