This week brought the wide release of "Babylon's Ashes," the sixth novel in James S.A. Corey's "The Expanse" series. Syfy took that opportunity to celebrate with the debut of a new trailer for the second season of the TV adaptation, also called "The Expanse." This time fans got a closer look at series-favorite character, Martian Marine Robert "Bobbie" Draper.

"The Expanse" is the story of humanity's expansion from living on Earth to becoming a  vast interstellar civilization. That epic tale is told through the adventures of the crew of the Rocinantean independent freighter that works for the three main factions -- Earth, Mars and the Asteroid Belt. Steven Strait plays Captain James Holden.

Newcomer Frankie Adams plays Bobbie Draper, a highly trained Martian Marine who's an expertly trained pilot with a suit a mech armor. The first season mostly followed Holden and Detective Miller (Thomas Jane) as they pursued parallel mysteries on different ends of the solar system. Draper's introduction means the series will dive into the action-packed events of the second book, "Caliban's War." There's a reason fans of "The Expanse" love Bobbie Draper.

Premiering Feb. 1 on Syfy, the second season of "The Expanse" also stars Cas Anvar as Alex Kamal, Dominique Tipper as Naomi Nagata and Wes Chatham as Amos Burton.
