These days, Rick Remender is known as the writer of creator-owned hits for Image Comics including "Deadly Class," "Black Science" and "Seven to Eternity;" following his stint on high-profile Marvel series such as "Captain America" and "Uncanny Avengers."

In 2008, Remender was still a rising star as a comic book writer, gaining attention for books like "Fear Agent" and "The End League" -- the latter a nine-issue series from Dark Horse Comics, featuring Mat Broome at the artist for the first four issues, Eric Canete from issues #4 through #8 and Andy MacDonald on the final issue. That series will be collected in full with a new Library Edition from Dark Horse, and CBR has the first details.

"The End League Library Edition" will be a hardcover collection of all nine issues, the latest in a series of deluxe Library Edition books from Dark Horse. The book is scheduled for release on Sept. 20.

Here's the official description, from the publisher: "'The End League' follows the last remaining superheroes on a devastated Earth as they embark on a desperate quest to find the one artifact that can save humanity—the Hammer of Thor. Superstar writer Rick Remender ('Fear Agent,' 'Tokyo Ghost)' is joined by comics legends Mat Broome ('X-Men,' 'Batman') and Eric Canete ('Iron Man,' 'Martian Manhunter') on a perilous journey to save the world!"
