CBR News received last week from Warner Bros. a special clock counting down to March 6, 2009, the release date of "Watchmen," the new Zack Snyder film based on the classic DC Comics graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.
Accompanying the clock was official "Watchmen" letterhead with a message reading as follows:
The end is nigh. 365 days and counting…
One year from today, WATCHMEN, a complex, multi-layered mystery adventure, will take us to the brink of destruction. In alternate 1985 America – in which costumed superheroes are not only real but have ultimately been outlawed – one "mask" goes looking for the truth behind the murder of one of his own, but uncovers a devastating conspiracy to drag the world implacably closer to its own end.
We hope you will enjoy the days, hours and minutes until we come face to face with doomsday.
The "Watchmen" clock's arrival coincides with last week's release of the first images of some of the film's main cast in costume.
