comiXology and Kodansha Comics have released Volumes 12-22 of the bestselling manga series The Drops of God in English. Along with the first 11 volumes, these new additions can be read digitally by members of Amazon Prime for free via Kindle and comiXology Unlimited.
The entire 44-volume series is scheduled to be released under the comiXology Originals banner, which is also home to titles such as Initial D, MARS and BECK.
Written by Tadashi Agi with art by Shu Okimoto, The Drops of God centers on Kanzaki Shizuku, whose father Yutata passes away. Yutaka was the owner of a massive wine collection, and in order to inherit it, Shizuku must correctly identify and describe 13 wines -- the first 12 heaven-sent wines known as the "Twelve Apostles" and the 13th known as the "Drops of God" -- while competing against the stellar young wine critic Toomine Issei.
The series has gained critical and commercial success while introducing many newcomers to the world of wine. In October 2019, Agi and vintner Peter Chiang launched the Drops of God Wine Salon, which consists of a curated wine club that includes personal wine recommendations for its members.
