The zombie genre may have slowed down in recent years, but stories that feature the undead are still popular. While most zombie movies typically employ a smaller cast of character actors to allow the budget to go towards the monsters, The Dead Don't Die boasts that it has "the greatest zombie cast ever disassembled."

The first trailer for the film has been released online, with the film centering around small-town police chief Cliff Robertson (Bill Murray) and officer Ronald Peterson (Adam Driver) trying to survive zombies overtaking their otherwise peaceful home. The film seems to be juggling authentic horror with a strong sense of humor, such as when Peterson breaks horror tradition and points out that a double murder in the local diner was clearly a zombie attack.
