The Dark Knight Rises, Thor 2, Cowboys & Aliens: July 5th Comic Reel

The Huffington Post spotted this first bit of video from the film's set in the UK:

Make what you will of that. Meanwhile, The Press and Journal in the UK (via Comic Book Movie) reports that a stunt went wrong yesterday, resulting in a parachutist falling from the sky."Pavel Satny, a professional photographer who has a home there, was in his garden around 8.30pm when the surprise visitor dropped in," they write. "The stuntman went through the roof of the chalet next door and got wedged there. Mr Satny said: '"It was incredible. I'm amazed he survived. There were five parachutists overhead. I was busy watching one of the other men, as it looked as if he was going to land in the forest next door. All of a sudden, out of the corner of my eye, I saw another man fall straight down into the roof next door. He dropped just like a stone."

Release date: July 20th, 2012

Deadline reported over the weekend that writer Don Payne has been tapped to craft the sequel script. Payne has superhero experience with "My Super Ex-Girlfriend," working on the "Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer" script and a rewrite of "Lobo." Yeah, make what you will of that, as well.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, release date: July 26, 2013

Total Film has a preview of their chat with co-star Olivia Wilde. Talking about her character, she says, "She's not just the love interest. She's not simply sultry. She has a lot in common with Jake and she's watching him very closely, because any clues he can give her as to where he's been will help her on her journey."

Starring Daniel Craig, release date: July 29th, 2011

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will retain its US title in all but three countries: Russia, Ukraine and South Korea. Paramount gave foreign markets the choice of releasing the film under its full title or the shorter "The First Avenger," with only those three countries opting to take Cap out of the name. "Interestingly, most international distributors believed the franchise name was so identifiable that not using 'Captain America' in the title could risk losing ticket sales," writes THR.

Starring Chris Evans, release date: July 22nd, 2011

Patrick Dempsey isn't the only "Transformers" actor pitching to play a Marvel hero. In this video, Tyrese Gibson uses MTV News to get his message across:

The Coventry Telegraph's Geek Files hears that "the studio is 'discussing sequels internally.'" Of course, that decision will probably depend on "The Wolverine's" performance.

As Spinoff Online reported, Garth Ennis's short film will screen at Comic-Con. "Marking Ennis’ directorial debut, the 17-minute horror film follows three survivors of an American helicopter crash (Tank Jones, Lauren Alonzo and Kate Kugler) as they cross the Taliban-controlled mountains of Afghanistan," they write. "As they struggle to survive the harsh conditions while avoiding the hostile attentions of the locals, they discover something far worse than enemy fighters — 'an ancient supernatural power, murderous and unstoppable!'"

Deadline reports that almost Wonder Woman Adrianne Palicki will play Lady Jaye in the film. I wonder if she'll go with the character's closely cropped hairdo.

Release date: August 10th, 2012

Creator Robert Kirkman offers this little tidbit to MTV News: "I'm actually in the writer's room this year, working closely with the writers and Frank [Darabont] to craft this season from start to finish — which has been a lot of fun. The main difference is that we've got more episodes this year, and we can tell a bigger, more involved story — and that's what we're doing!"
