The Dark Knight Rises Prologue Gets Its Own MPAA Rating

Who would have thought that one of the biggest stories to come out of the production of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises would be exactly where, when and in what form you'll be able to see a six-minute prologue of the film? Heck, we don't know for sure yet whether it will actually be six minutes (it was initially rumored to be eight). We do know that the prologue will be shown with the 70mm IMAX version of Paramount's Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, which opens Dec. 16.

CHUD also did some digging and discovered that The Dark Knight Rises: Prologue has been submitted to the MPAA for its own rating, coming away with an expected PG-13 for “some violence.” Not much surprise there, considering that's the same rating the previous two Batman flicks had.

The Dark Knight Rises, which opens July 20, 2012, stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Morgan Freeman.
