Longtime "Daily Show" correspondent Samantha Bee is heading to TBS to host her own series.

The news follows last week's announcement that the cable channel has ordered a family comedy created by Bee and her husband -- and fellow "Daily Show" veteran -- Jason Jones, who'll also star.

Still in the early stages of development, the untitled show is described as "a platform for Bee to apply her smart and satirical point of view to current and relevant issues." In addition to her hosting duties, she'll also executive produce alongside Jones.

According to TBS, Bee will continue to contribute "occasional pieces" to "The Daily Show" until production begins on the new series. The departure of Bee and Jones from "The Daily Show" arrives on the heels of Jon Stewart's announcement last month that he'll be leaving after 16 years behind the desk. Both the show and Comedy Central have also had to deal with the recent loss of "The Colbert Report," as Stephen Colbert follows David Letterman on CBS's "Late Night," and the exit of John Oliver, who now hosts "Last Week Tonight" on HBO.
