The CW sci-fi series Pandora will be returning for a second season.

According to Deadline, Pandora has officially been renewed by The CW following its Season 1 finale, which aired just over two weeks ago. Pandora Season 2 is expected to premiere on the network sometime next year, though an official release date has not yet been revealed.

Pandora is set in the year 2199 and follows Jacqueline "Jax" Zhou (aka Pandora) a young woman who has lost everything, but finds a renewed sense of purpose thanks to Earth's Space Training Academy. At the Academy, Jax and her friends learn how to defend the galaxy from various threats, be them human or alien. However, when secrets regarding her identity begin to surface, she must discover the truth about who she is, as well as what that ultimately means for the fate of humanity. The series premiered earlier this year on July 16, with Season 1 wrapping up on Oct. 1.

The CW's Pandora stars Priscilla Quintana as Jax, Oliver Dench as Xander Duvall, Raechelle Banno as Atria Nine, John Harlan Kim as Greg Li, Ben Radcliffe as Ralen, Banita Sandhu as Delaney Pilar, Martin Bobb-Semple as Thomas James Ross and Noah Huntley as Professor Donovan Osborn. The series is expected to return for Season 2 in 2020.
