As reported by Deadline, David Gyasi ("Interstellar"), Christina Moses, Chris Wood and Kristen Gutoskie have signed on for the leading roles in The CW's latest pilot, "Cordon."

The show takes place in Atlanta just after a deadly epidemic outbreak occurs. Gyasi plays a police officer named Alex "Lex" Carnahan whose girlfriend Jana (Moses) becomes trapped in an office inside the quarantine area. This will be the first time that The CW has a show led by two Black protagonists.

Wood joins the cast as Jake, Lex's best friend who is also stuck inside the cordon, and Gutoskie will play Katie, a teacher who finds herself trapped inside Atlanta Midtown Hospital.

"The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" showrunner Julie Plec will write the pilot, slated to be directed by David Nutter.
