Supernatural may be ending, but star Jared Padalecki intends to stay at The CW.

Deadline reports Walker -- Padalecki's Walker, Texas Ranger reboot -- has been picked up by the network after initial reports named The CW as a frontrunner for the series.

Following his 15-year run on Supernatural, Padalecki will executive produce and star in Walker. Joining him are executive producers Anna Fricke, Dan Lin, Lindsey Libertore and Dan Spilo; Fricke will also write.

The reboot will see the title character return home to Austin as a widower. There, he will continue his work as a cop with a new female partner. Together, they will be "the modern day heroes our world needs, following their own moral code to fight for what’s right, regardless of the rules."

Created by Albert S. Ruddy & Leslie Greif, the original series famously starred Chuck Norris in the title role. It ran for nine seasons, between 1993 and 2001, on CBS. Walker is intended to be "a straight reboot" of this series.

Until then, you can catch Padalecki in Supernatural Season 15, which stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins and Alexander Calvert and airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
