The CW has released a new, official trailer for its upcoming live-action DC series Gotham Knights.

The Gotham Knights trailer takes place in Gotham City in the aftermath of Bruce Wayne/Batman's death, centering on the group of young heroes-to-be who are framed for his murder, who are led by the Dark Knight's adopted son. Another prominent figure in the trailer is Harvey Dent, the man destined to become Two-Face, who is played by Supernatural alum Misha Collins. Gotham Knights is due to premiere on The CW in two months' time on Tuesday, March 14.

The Bat-Family Begins

Created by Natalie Abrams, James Stoteraux and Chad Fiveash, Gotham Knights stars Oscar Morgan as Bruce Wayne's son, Turner Hayes, who finds himself wrongfully accused of Bruce's murder -- though, he's not the only one. Turner has been framed for the crime alongside Duela Dent (Olivia Rose Keegan), the Joker's daughter; Harper Row (Fallon Smythe), aka Bluebird; and Cullen Row (Tyler DiChiara), Harper's brother. They form an unlikely alliance and become fugitives in their quest to find out who really killed Batman, even joining forces with the fallen hero's sidekick, Carrie Kelley (Navia Robinson) -- who DC fans will know as the version of Robin featured in Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.

In addition to Morgan, Keegan, Smythe, DiChiara, Robinson and Collins, Gotham Knights features Anna Lore as Stephanie Brown/Spoiler (the Cluemaster's daughter) and Rahart Adams as Brody. Production on the show's pilot began in April 2022. A trailer for Season 1 dropped the following month, presumably consisting exclusively of footage from said pilot. That particular trailer has since been de-listed from The CW's official accounts, though remains available to view elsewhere. Gotham Knights properly entered production in September 2022 before ultimately being slated for a March 2023 premiere.

The CW's Gotham Knights is not to be confused with WB Games Montréal's recent video game of the same name, which launched in October 2022. The game follows a very similar premise as the show, following a group of heroes who must rise to the occasion and protect Gotham after Batman is killed. However, the game follows the more recognizable Bat-Family members of Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, Tim Drake/Robin and Jason Todd/Red Hood. The show, meanwhile, focuses on more obscure DC character (e.g. Duela Dent), as well as all-new characters created specifically for the show (e.g. Turner Hayes).

Gotham Knights premieres March 14 on The CW.
