The cast of The CW's upcoming Gotham Knights series continues to grow, revealing some of the iconic characters that will feature, either in person or through the legacy they have left behind. The latter seems to be the case with Batman, who will have a new son in the show.

Among several new cast members, it was recently reported actor Oscar Morgan will join the series as a new character: Turner Hayes. The character is described as an orphan, adopted by Bruce Wayne. "Despite the murder of his biological parents, Turner remains resilient and driven to live up to his billionaire adoptive father's name. While charming and soulful, Turner has never quite felt comfortable in this world of wealth and privilege," his description reads.

Turner Hayes is not a character fans will find in the comics, although Bruce Wayne has taken several children under his wing and does, in fact, have a son. Damian Wayne was introduced (in canon) in Batman #655 (written by Grant Morrison, illustrated by Andy Kubert and Dave Stewart with lettering by Nick J. Napolitano). He is the son of Wayne and Talia Al Ghul, daughter of the infamous Ra's Al Ghul. Damian was trained by the League of Assassins but wanted to win his father's approval and aid him in his war on crime.

That inevitably led to duels between him and fellow Robin, Tim Drake, as well as vicious battles against some of Batman's foes. The Dark Knight and his son clashed often, owing to Damian's methods and disregard for life, but Bruce held out hope that he could change Damian and mend his outlook on the world.

But the Dark Knight is not the only classic Gotham character with children. Gotham Knights will also introduce the daughter of iconic villain the Joker. Duella Dent, based on the comic book character of the same name, will be played by Olivia Rose Keegan. The character is described as "abrasive, unpredictable and a little unhinged, Duella is, above all, a survivor. Born in Arkham Asylum and abandoned by her father – the most dangerous man in Gotham – Duela forged herself into a brutal fighter and skilled thief."

Gotham Knights received a pilot order in February. The series will follow Turner and other associates of the Dark Knight, as they move to protect the city following Batman's death, which is being blamed on all of them. It has been reported that the upcoming show is not set in the same world as Batwoman and is not associated with the upcoming video game of the same name.
