The CW Goes Rogue With Nikita

Luc Besson's 1990 French action film Nikita already has been the basis for a U.S. remake (Point of No Return) and a cult television series (La Femme Nikita). And now this fall it will serve as the inspiration for The CW's new spy drama named, somewhat unimaginatively, Nikita.

In the new series, from Warner Bros. Television in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision, Maggie Q (Mission Impossible III) stars as a spy and assassin for a top-secret U.S. government agency who goes rogue and will stop at nothing to bring down the organization. Nikita also stars Lyndsy Fonseca (Desperate Housewives), Shane West (ER), Aaron Stanford (X-Men: The Last Stand), Ashton Holmes (Boston Legal), Tiffany Hines (Bones), Melinda Clarke (The Vampire Diaries) and Xander Berkeley (24).

Executive producers are Craig Silverstein (Bones, K-Ville), Danny Cannon (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Chuck), McG (Supernatural, Chuck) and Peter Johnson (Supernatural, Chuck). The pilot was directed by Cannon.
