The CW Reveals The Arrowverse's Fall Premiere Dates


The CW has revealed the fall premiere dates for when its Arrowverse slate of DC Comics superhero TV shows will return to the network.

The Flash will kick things off on Tuesday, October 9 with its Season 5 premiere at 8 pm, followed by Season 2 of Black Lightning at 9 pm. Supergirl will follow the next week on Sunday, October 14 at 8 pm, with Arrow the next day on Monday, October 15 at 8 pm. Finally, DC's Legends of Tomorrow will return on Monday, October 22 at 9 pm.

The network announced changes to its fall schedule in May, with the biggest shakeups moving Supergirl to Sunday nights, and Arrow and DC's Legends of Tomorrow occupying Monday nights.

The CW’s reclaiming of Sunday nights — it ceded the block in 2009 to local affiliates — gives the network two additional hours of programming a week, allowing for a little more flexibility. A reluctance to run more than four superhero shows at a time had led Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow to share a Monday time slot in the second half of this season, to the displeasure of viewers.

Of course, the announcement also includes the debut dates for the reboot of Charmed, along with the returns of RiverdaleSupernatural, and the final season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
