Every day in April I will be featuring a humorous comic (either an issue or a series of strips) that I found particularly amusing. Feel free to e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org the comic stories that are your favorites when it comes to hilarity, and I'll see if I can't feature some of them this month, as well!
Today we look at the Afrodisiac original graphic novel from last year, by Jim Rugg and Brian Maruca, specifically the fight between Afrodisiac and Hercules!
The humor in Afrodisiac (a parody of blaxploitation characters – he is a pimp who is basically a superhero) is derived both from the various circumstances that a pimp like Afrodisiac gets involved in wacky hijinx, but more importantly, it is seeing Rugg depict Afrodisiac in a variety of "of the time" art styles.
The one-off graphic novel contains a wide variety of these stories. Today, I'll share with you one of them, as Afrodisiac finds himself beset by Hercules!
The whole book is filled with stories like this one.
