Prepare for things to get really weird for Homelander in the upcoming second season of Amazon Studios' The Boys.

“Season One for Homelander was about reconciling his past, dealing with his past,” Homelander actor Antony Starr said at 2019 Comic Con Experience in São Paulo, Brazil. “And one of the things that happen to all the characters [in Season 2], is whatever he had in Season One gets taken away. It’s a very internal journey. It gets really fucking weird, and I can’t tell you what, but I’ve done some of the weirdest things I’ve ever done.”

Homelander is the leader of the Seven, The Boys' version of the Justice League. The end of the first season resulted in some major revelations about Homelander and his relationship to Rebecca Butcher, wife of protagonist Billy Butcher.

Based on the comic series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys Season 1 performed very strongly for the streaming service, ranking among its top shows. Amazon renewed the series for a second season shortly before its series premiere in July. While details about Season 2 are scarce, it will feature the debut of several new characters, including the hero Stormfront and a mystery character played by Patton Oswalt.

The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as the Female, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander and Simon Pegg as Hughie's dad. A Season 2 premiere date has not yet been announced.
