The following article contains spoilers for The Boys Season 3, now streaming on Prime Video.

Timothy, The Deep's former aquatic companion, just became the face of a The Boys in-universe charity foundation.

Vought International's Twitter released a video of Chace Crawford's The Deep celebrating World Octopus Day by revealing a brand-new program to honor his octopus' Season 3 death. "This World Octopus Day, I'm launching an initiative to help keep these beautiful creatures safe" he announced. "The Timothy Foundation is named after a dear friend of mine, who tragically passed away this year. And for every donation you make in Timothy's honor, Vought will graciously match 7 cents to the dollar."

The Deep also used this opportunity to promote his brand, encouraging fans (known as "Deepies") to share the video with the hashtag #JusticeForTimothy. Vought's tweet ironically backed up The Deep's statement, writing, "This year, we lost one of Deep's dear friends Timothy, who was sadly eaten by a predator. We can't bring back Timothy, but we can try to make oceans safer for cephalopods on World Octopus Day. Vought is proud to offer continued support, thoughts and prayers for Timothy's family!"

In Season 3 of The Boys, The Deep -- still attempting to find a way back on the Seven -- is reinstated by Homelander through the reality show American Hero. However, as compensation, Homelander forces The Deep to eat an uncooked Timothy at a celebratory dinner to prove his loyalty, a task he reluctantly accomplishes. The remaining season would explicitly highlight Deep's sexual feelings toward octopi, getting caught with one during Season 3, Episode 6 "Herogasm" and losing his wife Cassandra over a desire to have a threesome with another octopus.

On convincing Amazon to let him shoot these bestiality scenes, showrunner Eric Kripke explained that "my pitch to them was always like, it's so absurd [that] it wouldn't be out of place in a Farrelly brothers movie. So it's hard to call it prurient bestiality. It's ridiculous. To my knowledge, I don't even think octopi have orifices down there." Furthermore, the season's finale saw Deep murder Vice President nominee Lamar Bishop on Homelander's orders, allowing Congresswoman Victoria Neuman -- who formed an alliance with Homelander during Season 3 -- to take his place as candidate Robert Singer's running mate.

Since Season 3's release, Crawford has participated in multiple ads marketing both The Deep and Vought projects set within The Boys universe. These include a Japanese soy sauce commercial, an Audible original called "Deeper and Deeper," and even a trailer for his own autobiography adaptation Not Without My Dolphin co-starring Titanic's Billy Zane. Crawford also voiced his character in The Boys Presents: Diabolical episode "Everyone Needs BFFs" but, according to Kripke, that episode is not officially canon.

The Boys Seasons 1-3 are currently streaming on Prime Video. Season 4 does not yet have a release date.
