Taika Waititi was just one fan of The Boys excited to see a trailer drop for the show's third season, but the feeling is apparently mutual, as The Boys now wants a trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder in return. The exchange began when Waititi showed his love of The Boys with a tweet that simply said "Fokk yeeeeaaas" in response to the new Season 3 trailer, which was unveiled on March 12 and teases new developments like Billy Butcher gaining superpowers and the debut of Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy. The official Twitter for The Boys screencapped Waititi's tweet and placed it over a shot from the trailer, tweeting it out with the message, "A trailer for a trailer, @TaikaWaititi? Where's Thor: Love and Thunder?"RELATED: The Boys Gives Maeve Her Wonder Woman Weapon

The Thor series is the first franchise within the Marvel Cinematic Universe to receive a fourth installment, with Waititi, who directed the third movie, Thor: Ragnarok, returning for Love and Thunder. Although Chris Hemsworth will be reprising his role as the God of Thunder, the film will also focus on his human ex-girlfriend Jane Foster's ascent as the new Thor, and many other characters from throughout the MCU will appear and have their own opportunities to shine.

Alongside Hemsworth, Love and Thunder will see Portman reprise her role as Jane, and Tessa Thompson will also return as King Valkyrie. The fan-favorite rock alien Korg, voiced by Waititi himself, will be back, and Christian Bale will be playing the villain of the piece, Gorr the God Butcher. With Waititi and others involved in the production hyping its impact on the MCU, it's not surprising that fans are anxiously awaiting more news.

The Boys, based on the comic series of the same name, is a satirical look at the superhero genre set in a world where "supes" have extraordinary powers and enjoy endless fame and fortune, but are apathetic and corrupt in their private lives, especially the highly publicized team called The Seven, led by the most powerful -- and most depraved -- supe, Homelander. Working underground to expose The Seven are the titular Boys, who have organized under the vengeance-obsessed Billy Butcher.

Before Season 3 of The Boys premieres on June 6, Waititi and other fans can catch up on Seasons 1 and 2, streaming on Prime Video now. Before Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters on July 8, The Boys' social media manager and other fans can stream a Thor marathon on Disney+.
