The latest member of The Seven, Stormfront is already leaving a mark as the newest big bad and a worthy rival for Homelander. As the (apparently) young and socially active newcomer in The Boys, she is vocal about the media's hypocrisy about women and attempts to make changes within The Seven. However, she has a dark secret, and her true nature and personality are seen in episode 3, "Over the Hill with the Swords of a Thousand Men."  Fans are now questioning the character's origin story and the purposes she will serve later in the show.

Regardless of her appearances in the comics, parts of Stormfront's origin story changed to serve a different role in the show's plot. Regardless of these changes, the main aspects and attributes from her origin story could still play a role in the second and third seasons of The Boys.

10 She Is A He In The Comics

Comic and TV Show Depiction of Stormfront

In comic books, Stormfront is a male super. Despite the gender change, he still possesses all the same powers and skills as his female counterpart.

In the TV show, Stormfront was gender-swapped as a younger, tech-savvy female character, played by Aya Cash. This change can further develop Homelander's character arc. Homelander wants complete control of The Seven and Vought-America. Given the released episodes, the gender-swap was one of the better changes about the new Stormfront as Homelander sees a powerful woman as a threat to his status as The Seven's leader.

9 Stormfront Was The First Successful Supe From Compound V

Stormfront's origin story in the comics reveals that he was the first successful supe derived from Compound V. However, Hitler's advisers suggested killing him due to his immense powers. Despite these orders, Jonah Vogelbaum moved to the United States with Stormfront to escape the atrocities of Nazi Germany. Eventually, Stormfront became a Vought-America product.

Given the recent revelation in episode 4, "Nothing Like It in the World," Stormfront may be accredited as the first supe in the show as well. Though Stormfront appears as a millennial to the public, she is confirmed to be Liberty, a super whose history goes back at least to the 1970s. Her story may develop further into WWII to explain her involvement in the creation of Compound V.

8 Stormfront Helped Create Other Supes Including Black Noir And Homelander

Once Vogelbaum arrived in the United States with a young Stormfront, he joined the renowned corporation, Vought-America. Since no other patient survived and no extra Compound V was available, the chemical was formulated again from Stormfront's genes. By using his genetics, Black Noir was created by Vought. Homelander's powers may also be derived directly from Stormfront.

Because the show confirmed that Stormfront supe named Liberty in the 70s, she may also be involved in Homelander's and Black Noir's origins. This new information about Stormfront may explain her fearlessness with Homelander, as her powers and abilities are on the same level as Homelander's.

7 He Joins A Team Called Payback

Stormfront and a Civilian in the Boys

In the comics, Stormfront joins a group called Payback, the second most popular super team after The Seven. Despite auditioning for The Seven, all the members of Payback were passed over for recruitment, especially Stormfront.

Though Stormfront joins the Seven in the show, Payback will eventually be integrated into the show's second season and set up the future plot for the third. The show was greenlit for a third season with Jensen Ackles set to appear as Soldier Boy. Coincidentally, Soldier Boy is a member of Payback. With this new development, Payback may become the latest super team that the Boys face with Stormfront being the key to its introduction.

6 Stormfront Is Based On Both Marvel And DC Characters

Thor and Shazam Showing Off their Power of Electricity

Many parts of the show's story and characters are parodies of Marvel and DC characters. Stormfront is one of the many supes that follow this trend.

Stormfront is considered a villainous parody of Marvel's Thor and DC's Shazam. Like Shazam and Thor, Stormfront can produce electricity and is capable of flight. Additionally, the character possesses superhuman strength like Shazam and weather manipulation like Thor. Moreover, since a female Thor exists in the Marvel comics, it's no coincidence that a female version of Stormfront has appeared, developed to continue parodying the Marvel comics and movies.

5 Stormfront Has A Lot Of Awesome Powers

Stormfront possesses some of the stronger powers seen in The Boys. These include electrokinesis, flight, superhuman strength, and weather manipulation. The character is also invulnerable to sharp objects. Most importantly, he can decelerate his body's aging. Therefore, even though he was 70 years old when he first met Homelander, it looked like they were contemporaries.

As the show discloses her history, Stormfront may exhibit aging deceleration as well. In episode 4, "Nothing Like It in the World," Stormfront's previous identity as Liberty was revealed. This shocking twist means that Stormfront is at least 60 years old and probably much older, which could help explain her probable role in Compound V experimentation.

4 Stormfront Has A Fear Of Becoming Blind

In the comics, though Stormfront is one of the more powerful supes, he has a fear of becoming blind. When he is flying, his eyes are damaged. It eventually leads to vision loss and blindness. Ironically, his eyes were once ripped out by the Female of the Species.

While the show has not mentioned this fear, it could still contribute to her downfall sometime in the show's future. It shows that even the strongest supes have the simplest weaknesses, which can come back to haunt them.

3 Stormfront Is A Manipulator

The Boys Stormfront

While teaming with Payback in the comics, Stormfront has demonstrated some leadership skills. However, his leadership skills are attributed to causing fear towards his teammates, so that he can control them to his advantage.

The show has already hinted at Stormfront's hunger for power and control. Her actions include her wanting to call out the media for their sexism, arguing with the PR team, and requesting changes to a film's script.  Chosen by Mr. Edgar to replace Translucent, Stormfront may use her impressive skills to dethrone Homelander from his position and become the new face for the team. Her controlling nature could help her to complete this feat not just for herself but also for Mr. Edgar.

2 Stormfront Is A Nazi

Several connections identify Stormfront as a Nazi. The character's comic book origin story begins with his recruitment into the Third Reich during WWII. His ideology comes from Hitler, and he expresses racist views about inferior races. Furthermore, his name is inspired by a white supremacist and neo-Nazi website.

Due to the progressivism of the 21st century and concerns about Nazism today, the show's Stormfront has hidden her true beliefs from the public. However, the first three episodes already hinted at the character's white supremacist and Nazi beliefs. These hints include her complimenting Homelander's blue eyes and her attacks on black civilians.

1 The Second Most Powerful Supe

Homelander, with Stormfront and Maeve, on The Boys

Due to Stormfront's numerous abilities and powers, in the comics he was considered the second most powerful supe after Homelander. He was even considered a worthy opponent for The Boys before his ultimate demise.

Even though her strong powers speak for themselves, she has also presented herself to be likable and assertive on the show. As a result, she has established herself as a popular member of The Seven. Also, Homelander is already threatened by her presence since she is not afraid of him, unlike the other members of the team. She has made herself a true rival for Homelander for the title of the most powerful supe in the world.
