According to star Aya Cash, the memorable sex scene between Homelander and Stormfront in Season 2 of The Boys was, as one might expect, a bit awkward to film.

"It was totally wild and silly," Cash said in a recent interview with CBR. "I was saying to someone that you do these sex scenes and everybody is on very good behavior, as they should be because it's an uncomfortable situation." The actor then added that she wanted to make jokes about the ridiculousness of filming such a scene, but no crew members could laugh while filming was taking place.

"So I'm like the comedian bombing during a sex scene because I'm like, 'Isn't this ridiculous?' Cash said about filming the scene. "And everyone's like, 'We don't see you. We cannot see the fact that you are in plastic underpants with a merkin on flying in the air.'" Not being able to make jokes is mostly what made filming the scene a bit uncomfortable, according to Cash.

Cash went on to say that having stunts involved in the sex scene strangely made it easier to film in some aspects. "So you're just trying to focus on getting the thing right versus trying to be sexy which, I mean, anytime you’re trying to be sexy, you're probably failing at it," she said. "So in some ways, it was easier than a normal sex scene because I was like, "Okay, wait. I got to go here and my head has to go here so that I don't hit the rock."

Cash's Stormfront was introduced in Season 2 of Amazon Prime's The Boys as a new member of The Seven, a team of superheroes led by Homelander. Stormfront is depicted in the series as the first superhero, who previously went by the moniker or of "Liberty." The character has ties to the Nazi party and uses her position of power to promote white supremacist ideals.

Recently, Cash gave some insight into Stormfront and spoke about how the character satirizes people that use the internet to push their own agendas. "When she is using her 'meme queens' to change public opinion, that comes from real life. That's not fantasy. That's what's happening in the world right now... which is fucking terrifying," Cash said.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara Kimiko, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander and Aya Cash as Stormfront. New episodes of Season 2 release Fridays on Amazon Prime.
