The Boys' Erin Moriarty and Jack Quaid revealed that the show actually hired a body double to bowl as Starlight during the pair's memorable bowling date in Season 1 -- but they didn't actually use her.

Moriarty recalled filming the scene during a New York Comic Con panel attended by CBR, explaining, "When I was able to successfully bowl in our first date scene and actually hit all the pins because when I bowl, everyone in the room should evacuate because it's actually hazardous. It's a health hazard."

The Starlight actor further joked that, when given a bowling ball, she tends to "hurt myself or hurt other people," but somehow she experienced some beginner's luck on set. She continued, "And somehow, on camera -- this never happens in life right -- they go in to my close up and I struck all of the pins out. So, that was pretty amazing."

Quaid, who portrays Starlight's love interest Hughie on the show, added that he was also surprised by Moriarty's bowling skills and confirmed that a stunt double was on the show's set that day.

"She put on basically like a Starlight wig and she was a professional bowler," he explained. "We had her on set just in case like anything went wrong, and then like first take, Erin just knocked down every single pin. It was like the entire crew was just like, 'Oh my God!'"

During the same panel, Moriarty also revealed that The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke always had her in mind to portray Starlight. "...The showrunner walked me out of the room and he said to me, 'You know what, just so you know, no matter what happens, I adore you and you're my creative choice whether you get it or not. Go home knowing that,'" Moriarty recalled of her callback audition. "And then here we are. Shout out to Eric Kripke for that lovely, little moment because that does not usually happen."

In other Starlight-related news, the official Twitter account for Vought International posted a new black-and-white music video starring the blonde Supe earlier this summer in anticipation of Season 3. The music video was for Starlight's song "Never Truly Vanish," which debuted in Season 2 during the funeral for Translucent.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko, Erin Moriarty as Starlight, Chace Crawford as The Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Katia Winter as Little Nina and Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy. Season 3 of The Boys does not yet have an official release date, but fans speculate the new season will debut on Amazon Prime Video in late 2021 or early 2022.
