Jack Quaid (Hughie) from The Boys recently revealed which comic storyline he'd like to see adapted to the small screen.Quaid's interest is in the G-Men, the comic's parody of Marvel's X-Men. While the show's parallels to DC superheroes are fairly self-evident (Homelander is like Superman, A-Train is like the Flash, etc.), the comic it's based on branched out a bit further, also containing its own takes on Marvel superheroes. And Quaid would love to see them brought to life on the small screen, as he revealed in a recent Twitter Q&A.
Issues 23-29 of The Boys comic contained the "G-Men" arc, which saw Hughie going undercover with the team, posing as a superhero to gather dirt and figure out the truth behind the death of members Silver Kincaid. To do so, he donned an ill-fitting red-and-green costume and the name "Bagpipe," referencing Hughie's Scottish heritage in the book.
While the show has taken the characters and setting of the comics, it's held off on adapting any of the plotlines from the comics, mainly focusing on setting up its own stories. Season 1 ended with a huge twist that wasn't in the comics, so fans will have to wait for the second season's premiere to know how it turns out. In the meantime, the comic is releasing its first new issue since 2012, "Dear Becky," which releases in June.
The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as the Female, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander and Simon Pegg as Hughie's dad. A Season 2 premiere date has not yet been announced.
