The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke recently shared more about Stormfront's role in Season 3.

Kripke discussed the gory fate of Stormfront (Aya Cash) in a recent interview with TV Guide, confirming that she's still alive but will not be in any kind of fighting condition for the foreseeable future, thanks to Homelander's son, Ryan.

"I will confirm that she is not dead and that she is now officially Stumpfront," Kripke said, echoing a prior statement he made in October after Season 2's finale debuted. At that time all he offered was that Stormfront "is being held at an undisclosed location," but didn't elaborate if it was a Vought owned facility or not, though it seems highly likely that it will be.

"She's just this kind of living torso. She cannot regenerate," he added. "The strength of Ryan's lasers — which were surprisingly powerful — are way more powerful than even Homelander's when Ryan gets angry enough. [The idea that] the woman who wanted the purity of a master race finds herself living for potentially centuries as a completely mutilated character — we thought was the appropriate poetic just desserts for that little Nazi!"

When asked if Stormfront will return in Season 3, Kripke answered, "I'm not going to say one way or another."

The Boys' Season 2 debuted on Amazon Prime this summer to critical acclaim, earning a number one spot on IMDb's ranking of 2020's television series. Fans have already asked for a release date for Season 3, however, there is no set release date at this time. There is also no available plot synopsis or trailer just yet.

Filming for The Boys' third season is expected to begin in February 2021 and continue throughout August. It's worth noting, though, that these production plans may or may not change, pending any delays from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Based on the current filming schedule -- and in comparison to how long it took to premiere the show's prior two seasons after production -- it's likely that Season 3 of The Boys won't air on Amazon Prime until sometime in 2022.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander and Aya Cash as Stormfront. Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
