The Boys has unveiled an intriguing promotional video for Season 4, featuring a special shareholders' presentation from Vought’s newly-appointed CEO, Ashley Barrett, portrayed by Colby Minifie.

Posted on Vought International’s official social media page, the video has Ashley confidently showing off her accomplishments as CEO, claiming she has done more in a short amount of time than her predecessor Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito). While sharing some of her plans for the future of the superhero company, she also acknowledged the exit of Annie January, a.k.a. Starlight, from The Seven by officially branding her as a traitor. This aligns with Starlight's actions during last season’s finale, in which she finally walked away from being a superhero to become a full-fledged member of The Boys.

Erin Moriarty’s Starlight was introduced in the first season as a rookie hero chosen to become the newest member of The Seven. However, her excitement for the position quickly faded when she discovered the dark secrets and corruption surrounding Vought and the heroes she once admired. Throughout the series, Starlight has been a key part in The Boys’ plans to expose the company due to her connection with Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid). She has also slowly shown the true potential of her powers during fight scenes against powerful enemies like Stormfront and Soldier Boy. Season 4 is expected to set up a new arc for Annie, as viewers will see how Annie will deal with Vought’s slander campaign against her.

What to Expect in The Boys Season 4?

In a previous interview, executive producer Seth Rogen teased The Boys fans to expect more shocking twists and turns for Season 4. "I can't be more shocked by what they're doing over there, they find a way to shock me even more." From running over someone with super-speed to The Boys smashing through a whale to the "Herogasm" episode, the creative team is always trying to find new ways to outdo R-rated scenes from previous seasons. Recently, VFX supervisor and associate producer Stephen Fleet revealed that Season 4 will feature one of the show’s most disturbing scenes yet, describing it as “the most disgusting thing I [he] have seen working in this business thus far.”

The Boys Season 4 Newcomers

The Boys Season 4 will also welcome new members to the cast including The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who’s no stranger to playing flawed heroes, as he previously appeared in Zack Snyder’s superhero thriller Watchmen. The next season will also feature the introduction of two new Supes, Firecracker and Sage, who are respectively played by Valorie Curry and Susan Heyward. Both characters were originally made for the series and not adapted from the comics. Not much is known about them, other than Firecracker has pyrokinetic abilities, while Sage is a clairvoyant.

Apart from the franchise newcomers, the next installment will also include the return of Simon Pegg as Hughie’s father Mr. Campbell. Before wrapping up filming for Season 4, The Cornetto Trilogy actor shared a Campbell family set photo which featured him, Quaid, and new cast member Rosemary DeWitt as Hughie’s mysterious mother, Mrs. Campbell. Meanwhile, Cameron Crovetti, who plays Homelander’s son, Ryan, has been officially promoted to a series regular, teasing his bigger part in Homelander’s arc in the next season.

The first three seasons of The Boys are available for streaming on Prime Video.
