The Boys creator and showrunner Eric Kripke gave fans an exciting update on the long-awaited third season, including news that a trailer is indeed coming soon.

Along with getting close to finishing VFX shots, the crew is about halfway through to completing Season 3 in full. On top of that, Kripke promised that a trailer "will be out in a few weeks."

While a teaser trailer for Season 3 of The Boys was already released the June 3 premiere date was announced, fans can expect an extended trailer in the coming weeks, teasing more of what Vought, the Seven and the titular gang will be getting up to following the Season 2 finale.

Season 3 of The Boys wrapped filming last fall in Toronto but Prime Video was quick to give the series an early Season 4 renewal. To keep fans occupied until the third season drops, there will be an animated anthology series, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, which will be canon in The Boys universe, at least for a few episodes. That series will drop on Prime Video on March 4.

The third season will include many new superheroes on top of the ones that fans already know and love (and hate). The most notable "newbie" hero is Jensen Ackles, portraying Vought's first supe, Soldier Boy. The Supernatural star is teaming up with Kripke once again, who created the CW series. Also joining the roundup is yet another patriotic superhero, Blue Hawk, played by Nick Wechsler; along with Gunpowder, played by Sean Patrick Flannery; Supersonic, played by Miles Gaston Villanueva; Crimson Countess, played by Laurie Holden; and plenty more.

While there is no telling what will happen in Season 3, Ackles did hint Soldier Boy may return in Season 4, saying that "the door is not closed." Of the superhero, Kripke previously teased, "I think anyone expecting [Ackles] to show up and be a good guy, they will be disappointed." More than that, he compared the character to Vought's most powerful hero, stating Soldier Boy was "Homelander before Homelander."

Season 3 of The Boys premieres on Prime Video June 3. Seasons 1 and 2 are available for streaming now.
