Fans of The Boys are claomoring for a full Season 3 trailer, and the show's social media managers heard and answered...with an announcement for a new Star Wars trailer which has nothing to do with The Boys.

"New (Obi-Wan) trailer today," the official The Boys Twitter posted on May 4, commonly known as Star Wars Day. The tweet was followed up with a couple more using images of Billy Butcher, Karl Urban's caustic antihero of The Boys, to let fans know that the demands for "a proper S3 trailer" had been noted, but that they weren't getting an answer about when it was coming.

The new trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi was released on Wednesday, May 5, to the excitement of Star Wars fans. The Boys Twitter, meanwhile, carried on the theme of the day by applying Obi-Wan's quote, "When the time comes, he must be trained," to a GIF featuring a much different kind of mentor: Homelander, shown pushing his son Ryan off the roof as he did in The Boys Season 2 to find out if the boy had superpowers. The following tweet in the thread reads, "(We're aware how wrong we are for this)."

Known for channeling Billy Butcher's voice and black humor, The Boys Twitter has been known to engage with unrelated media before. After the first Season 3 teaser dropped, there was an attempt to use it to bargain with Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi to get a trailer in return -- unsuccessfully, as the film's first trailer didn't come until much later.

The Boys, based on the comic series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, is a satirical look at the superhero genre set in a world where "supes" have extraordinary powers and enjoy endless fame and fortune, but are apathetic and corrupt in their private lives. This is especially true of the highly publicized team called The Seven, who are funded by a manipulative corporation known as Vought International and led by the most powerful -- and most depraved -- supe, Homelander. Working underground to expose The Seven are the titular Boys, who have organized under the vengeance-obsessed Butcher.

While the release date of its next trailer is unknown, The Boys Season 3 itself will premiere on Prime Video on June 3. Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on the platform now.
