The Boys jokingly reveals what Black Noir scribbled in his notepad while watching the teaser trailer for the Prime Video series' third season.

Posted on the series' Twitter account, the gag tweet includes two pictures: one of The Seven's most enigmatic member writing in a notebook (a still taken from Season 1), and another from his point of view, looking down at the page with his gloved hand gripping a pencil visible in the corner of the frame. The second image purports to show the notes Black Noir made while watching the long-awaited Season 3 trailer.

Black Noir's first note concerns his apparent confusion over whether "Butcher" is the last name or job title of Billy Butcher (Karl Urban). Although this is poking fun at the silent superhero's intellect, the question comes after Butcher's new superpowers cause carnage in the trailer with abilities like Homelander. Black Noir quickly moves on from this point though, with his next note addressing the lack of Gruyère puffs on display -- a callback to a sight gag in Season 1 involving this specific type of canapé.

Then, Black Noir jots down the question "Girls STILL get it done?" A reference to Vought International's faux-feminist marketing campaign in The Boys Season 2, this note teases the return of the show's female powerhouses Queen Maeve and Starlight, as well as the debut of Crimson Countess. Another of Black Noir's notes focuses specifically on Maeve, highlighting her new Wonder Woman-inspired sword.

The mysterious supe's notebook also contains a shout-out to The Boys Season 3's most prominent addition, Soldier Boy. Black Noir's writings query whether his mature-aged colleague should really be called "Soldier Man" instead, being that the character is nearly a century old. According to Soldier Boy actor Jensen Ackles in a recent interview, "[Soldier Boy's] a grandpa. He's from the '40s... He doesn't age, so he's this 40-year-old superhero who's really 80 years old or 90 years old."

While Black Noir's "notes" are obviously a bit of fun, the trailer for The Boys Season 3 does show a brief glimpse of the character sitting down with a pencil and paper. He's shown drawing rather than writing, however, specifically doodling a cartoon animal.

Season 3 of The Boys premieres on Prime Video on June 3.
