The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke claims that the Season 3 premiere will be crazier than anything done before.

In an interview with Deadline, Kripke discussed the much-anticipated third season of the Amazon Prime Video series. "Without giving away any spoilers, I was just in editing yesterday, and we’re doing something here in the Season 3 premiere that is not only I think the craziest thing we’ve ever done, it’s got to be up there with the craziest thing anyone’s ever done," Kripke said.

"Maybe it won’t work. Who knows? But I’m just so high on this gag that we’re pulling off," Kripke said. "And it’s certainly something nobody has ever seen before, probably for good reason. So all that’s really exciting." Kripke previously spoke about the Season 3 premiere, describing his experience watching the episode's director's cut. Including a head-exploding GIF, he said "I think you're in for something really special. And insane. And special."

The Boys' third season will cover the Herogasm volume from the comic book, which also left Kripke astonished. "I've just seen dailies that are, by a mile, the craziest fucking dailies I've ever seen in my career. Or maybe anyone's career," he stated. Collected as The Boys fifth volume, the "Herogasm" arc follows Billy Butcher and his team as they infiltrate a Vought party, which ends up being a secret superhero orgy.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as The Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Katia Winter as Little Nina and Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy. Season 3 has yet to receive a premiere date.
