The Boys Season 3 teaser trailer gives fans their first look at Billy Butcher's new supe powers.

Ahead of the trailer's release, the Prime Video series teased a dramatic change for the leader of The Boys on social media, writing, "Soon, it'll be time to level the playing field," alongside an image of Butcher (Karl Urban) with glowing eyes. This ability is one sported by Homelander (Antony Starr), the supe that Butcher despises the most. The trailer shows Butcher shooting lasers out of his eyes, as well as going toe-to-toe with another supe, sending him flying with a single punch.

The power upgrade for Butcher serves as another example of the Prime Video series differentiating itself from the comic book source material. In the original series from writer Garth Ennis and artists Darick Robertson and Russ Braun, each member of The Boys -- except for the Female (Kimiko in the television series) -- has been given a special variant of Compound V, granting them superhuman strength, durability and extending their natural lifespan. However, in the comics, Butcher is never given powers quite like those in store for Season 3.

Butcher will not be the only laser-eyed character in the upcoming season as well. While Homelander's return was expected, being that showrunner Eric Kripke has labeled him as a homicidal maniac in Season 3, the supe's son, Ryan, also makes an appearance in the teaser trailer, confirming his involvement in the upcoming season.

Of course, more powered players are in store as well. The trailer gives fans their first look at Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), Crimson Countess (Laurie Holden) and other supes in action. While Ackles' super suit and shield have been seen in the past, the trailer gave a first glimpse at his helmet and bearded appearance for the show. Supersonic (Miles Gaston Villanueva), Starlight's ex-boyfriend, was also in the trailer, giving a boy band performance for a cheering crowd.

While fans have to wait until June for the upcoming season, an animated spinoff, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, is now available to stream on Prime Video. The show is an anthology series spotlighting different scenarios set within The Boys' television and comic book universes. Kripke has confirmed that the finale of the spinoff is canon to the live-action series, which expands on Homelander's early years with Vought and relationship with Black Noir.

The Boys Season 3 lands on Prime Video June 3 and will run for eight episodes, including the highly anticipated "Herogasm" episode. The Boys Presents: Diabolical is currently streaming in its entirety on the streaming platform.
