Prime Video's The Boys has kicked off a series of videos recapping the highlights of the superhero satire's second season. These videos are designed to bring fans up to speed ahead of Season 3, and will appear on The Boys' official Twitter account. The first entry in the series focuses on Dominique McElligott's Queen Maeve, showcasing her transformation from villain to anti-hero across Season 2's eight-episode run. The 30-second clip then ends with a brief glimpse of Maeve wielding her Wonder Woman-inspired sword in The Boys Season 3. Related: Chace Crawford Says The Boys Season 3 Is Dirty Enough to End Career

While fans will no doubt find these recap videos useful, not all the Prime Video show's social media content is quite as informative. The official Twitter account recently "spoiled" the plot of The Boys' third season in a tongue-in-cheek post that claimed Season 3 is "actually the story of how everyone moves deep into the woods to become lumberjacks." The three-tweet thread included several other hilarious faux-plot points, such as Soldier Boy and Butcher trading tips on facial haircare and Maeve taking five minutes a day to handle the actual lumberjacking chores.

The account also previously purported to reveal what enigmatic antagonist Black Noir jotted in his notepad while watching The Boys Season 3's teaser trailer. This gag included several jokes at the expense of Black Noir himself, such as his apparent uncertainty over whether "Butcher" is Billy Butcher's last name or occupation. There was even a sly callback to a sight gag in The Boys Season 1 involving Black Noir and a plate of Gruyère puff canapés.

The marketing campaign for The Boys Season 3 hasn't been all jokes, though. The show's official account tweeted a poster with the first look at Billy Butcher's new superpowers in March 2022, days before fans got the chance to see them in action in the third season's teaser trailer. Star Karl Urban later opened up about Butcher's new superhuman abilities, explaining how they represent a temptation for the vigilante. "That's the dilemma: does Butcher become a superhero or a super villain?" he said. "In order to defeat the monster, do you become the monster?"

The Boys Season 3's promotional efforts have also devoted considerable energy to teasing new character Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles. Most recently, the real-world Twitter account of the show's in-universe corporation Vought International shared a new photo of Soldier Boy taken during World War II.

The Boys Season 3 premieres Friday, June 3 on Prime Video.
