WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for The Boys Season 2, Episode 5, "We Gotta Go Now," available now on Amazon Prime Video.

Appearing in the very first issue of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's The Boys series in 2006, Terror is Billy Butcher's faithful bulldog. However, despite his key role in the original comic, Terror only appears in a flashback during Season 1 of Amazon Prime Video's The Boys adaptation. According to show co-creator Eric Kripke, the choice to exclude Terror essentially boiled down to the difficulty of working with dogs in addition to everything else going on with the show. However, Kripke did promise Terror would play a role in Season 2, and in the latest episode of The Boys, "We Gotta Go Now," he delivers.

Billy Butcher and Terror Reunite in The Boys

After Becca Butcher rejects Billy's attempts to take her away from the secret Vought compound in which she's being held, the leader of The Boys enters something of a depressed state and starts engaging in risky behavior. Eventually, Billy goes to the house of his Aunt Judy. There, he meets up with Terror and takes him for what Billy believes will be a final walk, as the leader of The Boys has lost all hope following Becca's rejection.

However, when Billy returns to Aunt Judy's house, Hughie and Mother's Milk are waiting for him. Earlier in the episode, a call between Billy and Hughie tipped the latter off that the former was depressed and looking to end things. Initially, Billy tries to get them to go away, but things change massively when Black Noir, who set his sights on Billy at the end of the previous episode of the show, arrives outside the house.

Much of the rest of the episode deals with Billy, Hughie and Mother's Milk working to take down Black Noir, and they're partially successful. Still, their confrontation with Black Noir requires them to essentially detonate explosives in the house. This leaves the fate of Terror unclear, at least initially.

After the battle concludes, the show reveals Terror survived Black Noir's attack relatively unscatched. However, this doesn't mean he's going to end up as part of the team. Instead, as the segment dedicated to Billy and The Boys concludes, the group's leader swears to Terror that he'll get his "mother" back. He then gives him a toy to have sex with on command, an act showing this version of Terror isn't much different from his comics counterpart.

While there's no clear indication Terror will return anytime soon, the dog proves very useful in helping to further explain Billy and his psychology. The leader of The Boys, while initially depressed, gets new energy following his encounter, and his dialogue to Terror repeatedly suggests that he sees the dog as his and Becca's child. Right now, that's the family Billy is going to be fighting to get back, which could end up meaning disaster for Homelander and Becca's son, Ryan.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as the Female, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Aya Cash as Stormfront and Simon Pegg as Hughie's dad. New episodes of Season 2 release Fridays on Amazon Prime Video.
