The Boys: Patton Oswalt Joins Season 2 in a Secret Role

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke has revealed that Patton Oswalt has joined the cast of the Amazon Prime series for its second season.

Kripke made the announcement on his Twitter account, posting a picture of himself alongside Oswalt with the message, "Thank you @pattonoswalt, that was AMAZING! #TheBoysTV #Season2 #SecretRole @TheBoysTV #TheBoys @PrimeVideo #SPNFamiIy"

As for who Oswalt will be playing, Kripke teased fans by declaring Oswalt will be filling a secret role, so let the speculation begin.

The Amazon Prime Video US Twitter account responded to the announcement by stating, "Oswalt has now been in more superhero franchises than spandex."

Two days ago set photos made their way online that revealed a new member of The Seven. The photos have since been deleted, but they showcased a memorial statue for a fallen superhero named Soldier Boy. The image that might interest fans the most showed a picket sign reading, "Fighting for our freedom." It featured Homelander and a new superhero standing beside him; a woman in an imposing stance, clad in black with a cape. There is no indication of who this new member of The Seven is, but her appearance on the sign calls into question Queen Maeve's role as a member of The Seven in Season 2.

The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as the Female, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander and Simon Pegg as Hughie's dad. A Season 2 premiere date has not yet been announced.
