The Boys has once again used its in-universe move Dawn of the Seven to parody a recent release of a superhero movie.

Vought International, an in-universe company responsible for the creation of superheroes in The Boys, recently posted on its Twitter account that "Dawn of the Seven is getting re-re-released! First, a 4:3 black and white version, then an enhanced 3D version, then 'the fun cut' with 2 hours of additional material. Vought++ subscribers get a free churro with ticket purchase." With the inclusion of the words "fun cut" and "additional material," the post is seemingly calling attention to and parodying Sony and Marvel's recent re-release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which included 11 minutes of new footage and was marketed as The More Fun Stuff Version.

Vought's tweet also references two other epic blockbusters: Zack Snyder's Justice League ("4:3 black and white version") and 2009's Avatar ("enhanced 3D version"). Vought previously parodied Zack Snyder's Justice League in May 2022 with a tweet that parodied the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement. The Twitter post quickly went viral at the time and was even noticed by Snyder himself, who responded with a message of congratulations to the Dawn of the Seven's fictional director Bourke for having his vision realized.

The Boys Will Continue to Parody Superheroes in Season 4

Filming is currently underway on Season 4 of The Boys, which will once again follow the exploits of the titular team as they attempt to take down Vought International and its various corrupt and dangerous superheroes, especially Homelander, who is the Prime Video drama series' take on DC Comics' Superman. While plot details remain scarce for The Boys Season 4, showrunner Eric Kripke has revealed that the season premiere is titled "Department of Dirty Tricks" and was written by David Reed and directed by Phil Sgriccia.

Prime Video is also working on The Boys' first live-action spinoff series, which was recently revealed to be titled Gen V. The series will reportedly center around the lives of young superheroes attending the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting. The university, owned and operated by Vought International, sees students training in Hunger Games-inspired competitions for a chance to be the next generation of Vought superheroes. Filming on Gen V's first season wrapped at the start of Sept. 2022. The series will star Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Chance Perdomo, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann and Shelley Conn.

The first three seasons of The Boys are now available to stream on Prime Video. A release date for The Boys Season 4 and Gen V have not been announced at this time.
