It was only recently that Amazon Studios unveiled Jensen Ackles' look for Season 3 of The Boys. Now, audiences can see how closely the final product resembles the original intention.

Concept art created by Greg Hopwood, and revealed by TheWrap, shows Soldier Boy, bearing Ackles' likeness, with his uniform and shield -- designed by Laura Dean Shannon -- saluting unseen figures in the middle of a fiery battlefield.

Ackles' casting was announced in August 2020. Soldier Boy is described as being Vaught's first superhero, manufactured during World War II. Star Laz Alonzo previously teased that the character "allowed [showrunner Eric Kripke] to not only bring in a character historically who's pretty dark, but it also makes all of the other ensemble Supes darker as well."

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as The Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Katia Winter as Little Nina and Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy. Seasons 3 has yet to receive a premiere date.
