Jeffrey Dean Morgan Joins The Boys

Morgan was originally in talks to join the cast of The Boys for the superhero satire's third season. However, plans for the actor to appear in Season 3 fell through due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Things worked out in the end, though, with the Supernatural alum ultimately being tapped to join the cast of Season 4.

Morgan's undisclosed role in The Boys Season 4 marks a reunion with series creator Eric Kripke, who also created The WB/The CW's Supernatural, on which Morgan starred as John Winchester. Morgan is the latest Supernatural star to make the jump to The Boys, with Jensen Ackles having joined the fray as Soldier Boy in Season 3. Morgan is also no stranger to superhero and comic book-based projects, having appeared in such films as Watchmen and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well as on AMC's The Walking Dead. He is attached to star in an upcoming spinoff series titled The Walking Dead: Dead City.
