The Boys actor Jack Quaid revealed how filming the third season's long-awaited "Herogasm" episode pushed him out of his comfort zone.

Given that Herogasm is an annual orgy event attended by Vought-sponsored supes, the actors of the hit Prime TV series were made to shoot some of the most explicit scenes in the show's most anticipated installment to date. As reported by Variety, Quaid was no exception as his character, Hughie, was granted a temporary superpower which resulted in him shedding his clothes every time he teleported.

"I remember reading the ‘Herogasm’ issue and just being really blown away by how absolutely depraved and insane it was and how hilarious it was at the same time,” Quaid said. "So I was really looking forward to getting to dive into that storyline for the show. But shooting it was something else. Like, you think you’re very comfortable with certain things. Then you get there and you kind of realize what you’re not so comfortable with."

Luckily for Quaid, he was surrounded by nothing but support and love on set. He was even inspired by the fearlessness displayed by his peers. "Everyone was so lovely, and special credit goes to all of the background actors in that scene because they were there longer than any of us doing things that would make most people squirm and be very, very uncomfortable with," the actor said. "And they just committed 1,000%." Quaid goes on to say that he's never seen so much confidence on display, noting that the extra's enthusiasm both encouraged him and granted him the courage he needed to make the scene work.

The Boys star concluded by conveying how thrilled he is with how the episode ultimately turned out, noting that the entire ordeal was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience "That whole episode — I’m never going to shoot anything like that again," Quaid said. "And the fact that all the storylines wrapped up around that event are so interesting and cool, I think it’s one of the best episodes we’ve ever done and I’m really proud of it."

Seasons 1 and 2 of The Boys are available to stream now on Prime Video. Six episodes of the show's third season have been released on the service to date, with the remaining episodes released on a weekly basis every Friday.
