Though a member of the superhero group known as the Seven in The Boys comic series, Jack from Jupiter never appeared in Amazon's on-screen adaptation. Jack was instead replaced with a new character named Translucent, who possesses diamond-like skin and the ability to turn invisible.

Jack from Jupiter was The Boys comic's answer to Martian Manhunter from DC Comics. He is an extraterrestrial with the power of flight and near invulnerability. Like the most of the Seven, Jack is portrayed as a narcissistic character with plenty of skeletons in his closet.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, series co-creator of The Boys Erik Kripke explained the decision not to use Jack in the show, saying: “No gods from mythology, no aliens from other planets. It’s only humans who suddenly found themselves with these extraordinary abilities.”

Kripke told a user on Reddit that including a character like Jack would take away from the show feeling grounded. "Jack always felt too fantastic for the world we were trying to create."

Though Jack from Jupiter didn't appear in Season 1 of The Boys, Kripke teased that the character may cameo in Season 2. “We’re aiming to have a sort of cameo from him in a Jack from Jupiter porno in Season 2, but we’ll see if that comes together.”
