Amazon Prime Video's The Boys adapts the comic series of the same name that ran from 2006 to 2012, spanning 72 issues. The live-action series adapts much of the plot and its characters but -- as with the majority of adaptations -- is required to alter certain characters, stories and other elements. This includes prominent characters such as Mother's Milk.

Actor Laz Alonso discussed the character on the Comic-Con@Home panel and compared him to the comic book character. "Garth [Ennis] had taken this character and molded him after -- in theory -- after the crack babies, of the '80s, where he was physically infected with an addiction to V," Alonso explained. This is in reference to Mother's Milk's mother being contaminated with Compound V through her work at a Vought International factory. This resulted in Mother's milk being born with a need for his mother's breast milk to survive.

The actor went on to explain that in the Amazon series, "That's not the case, so what is he infected with?" He continued, "[Showrunner Eric Kripke] kind of beautifully created this infection with being a fighter of freedom... That's what he's infected with, is risking what he has in the pursuit of justice," clarifying that that justice would not necessarily be for him, but for others, such as his daughter.

Mother's Milk, also known as Marvin Milk, was a part of Billy Butcher's crew in Season 1 of The Boys and served to balance Butcher's aggressive approach to the campaign against The Seven. His involvement in the crew's activities ultimately places his family in danger, when Black Noir and Homelander are made aware of Mother's Milk's wife and daughter.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as the Female, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Aya Cash as Stormfront and Simon Pegg as Hughie's dad. Season 2 premieres Sept. 4 on Amazon Prime Video.
