WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for The Boys Season 2, Episode 7, "Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker," available now on Amazon Prime Video.

After finding out the truth about The Seven in The Boys Season 1, Annie January/Starlight has continually found herself at odds with Vought's premier superhero team. In Season 2, Starlight has continually worked against Vought, having even gone so far as to reveal the truth about Compound V to the world. Most recently, Frenchie removed her tracking chip, allowing her to participate in The Boys' infiltration of the Sage Grove Center, a secret Vought facility trying to find a version of Compound V that works on adults.  Finally, in the latest episode of The Boys Season 2, titled "Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker," Starlight finds herself imprisoned by Vought for working against the company.

At the start of "Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker," Starlight meets with her estranged mother, Donnam who recently came back into the Supe's life. During their conversation, Donna reveals she talked to Ashley Barrett at Vought about Starlight taking some time away from The Seven. However, this allows Vought to send Black Noir to track down Starlight and throw both herself and her mother into cells at Seven Tower.

During a rally shortly afterward, Homelander brands Starlight a traitor to a large crowd and national television, effectively ruining her reputation. Lamplighter and Hughie Campbell see Homelander making this claim against Starlight and spring into action, ready to free her from Seven Tower. Things, though, definitely do not go according to plan.

As a result of her superpowers, Starlight is put into room 42D, which Lamplighter describes as a special cell designed to hold powerful Supes. The room features lighting Starlight is unable to manipulate with her powers, thus rendering her trapped in a solidly constructed prison cell. While Hughie initially wants to break Starlight out of her cell, Lamplighter has other ideas and ends up immolating himself in The Seven's conference room as a result of the sadness and guilt he feels for what he's done. This has the unintended effect of creating a lightsource outside 42D from which Starlight can draw power.

After Starlight escapes, she's attacked by Black Noir, who is subdued by Queen Maeve and an Almond Joy. While Starlight does offer Maeve the chance to join her, the more senior member of The Seven refuses. While that's going on, Hughie finds Donna and then Starlight, after which they all escape from Seven Tower together.

Thanks to Homelander, Starlight is now a wanted criminal, and things could get very dangerous for her going forward. As Stormfront remarks, Starlight being a traitor began trending on social media shortly after Homelander's reveal, meaning a lot of damage has been done to her reputation. However, even if The Boys do find a way to clear her name, there may always be a dark cloud hanging over the Supe, and there's a good chance Vought won't trust Starlight again in the future.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as the Female, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Aya Cash as Stormfront and Simon Pegg as Hughie's dad.
