WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for The Boys Season 2, Episode 5, "We Gotta Go Now," available now on Amazon Prime Video.

Throughout The Boys Season 1 and the first half of Season 2, Homelander had an infantilization fetish and showed a deep love for drinking breast milk. However, Homelander would get this kick through Madelyn Stillwell, whom he killed at the end of Season 2. While Doppelganger did substitute in for Stillwell following her death, Homelander killed him in Episode 4, leaving it unclear just where he'd get his kicks from next. Still, Homelander killing Doppelganger sent a message that he wanted to be more in control than ever before. That's why in the latest episode of The Boys Season 2, "We Gotta Go Now," he finds his new fetish: sadomasochism.

At the start of "We Gotta Go Now," a war crime Homelander committed is exposed to the general public, causing his popularity to drop precipitously. While Ashley Barrett -- who has been handling The Seven in the wake of Stillwell's death -- advises him not to do anything rash, Homelander attends a rally held by Congresswoman Victoria Neuman. After Neuman announces there will be a congressional hearing into Homelander's war crime, the leader of The Seven takes the stage in an attempt to justify his actions. This proves unsuccessful, and he's forced to fly away.

Later in the episode, Homelander encounters Stormfront, who reveals her meme-generating factory is already working to undermine Neuman and the investigation. After a brief exchange, the two start to have sex, and it's intense. Initially, Stormfront asks Homelander to use his laser vision on her breasts. She's able to endure the attack, and seems aroused by it. They then proceed to toss and hit each other, doing a ton of damage to the apartment in the process. Finally, as the episode ends, they have sex while floating in the air.

While Homelander's kink had previously been infantilization, this is a whole new fetish for the Supe. Although he's definitely proven himself a sadist, this proves he wants to exercise his power more. Plus, the exchange provides a lot of thematic insight into both Homelander and Stormfront. Not only is Stormfront able to stand on equal footing with Homelander, but the leader of The Seven feels more inclined to cut loose and use his abilities than ever before. In Stormfront, Homelander is finding a kindred, fascist soul. Considering that Homelander imagined killing everyone at Neuman's rally with his laser vision, this twist could spell disaster for everyone if the Supe ever really cuts loose.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as the Female, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Aya Cash as Stormfront and Simon Pegg as Hughie's dad.
