The following article contains spoilers for The Boys Season 3, Episode 6, "Herogasm."

The Boys' most outlandish episode yet, "Herogasm," was looking to feature a cameo by a former US President.

Actor Chace Crawford, who plays The Deep, heard rumors that former President Barack Obama was potentially going to be one of the celebrities featured during a scene that parodied Gal Gadot's infamous "Imagine" video. Despite the swirling whispers, showrunner Eric Kripke told Variety that it was nothing more than a joke. "No, no, no. Jessica Chou, who wrote the script, in a cheeky way, wrote, ‘Here’s all the people that we want to sing a verse’ and wrote her wish list, ‘culminating in President Obama!'” Kripke said. “But at no point were we going to call Obama. I think we would definitely call Obama and get him in the show, but that would not be the favor I would call in, if I had a line to President Obama.”

Kripke said that the ''Imagine'' video was released while writing was taking place for The Boys' third season, proving to be easy fodder for the show's writers. "The target was too big and juicy to not go for because she’s a superhero putting out something to the public that is a little tone-deaf to the struggles that people were really going through," Kripke said.

It is no secret that Obama is a big fan of the series, with Kripke previously stating, "More than once in editing and post-production on the exploding penis sequence [this season], the thought has come up many times. Like, 'Can you imagine President Obama watching this scene right now? And what he must be thinking?'"

While the events of the episode were different from the comics in many ways, the general premise remained the same: "Herogasm" is an annual orgy attended by supes, who indulge in their most debaucherous fantasies, some using their powers to do so. The latest chapter also included a tense battle between Soldier Boy, Homelander, Billy Butcher and naked Hughie.

While Obama may not feature in any episodes anytime soon, The Boys has featured some notable cameos already this season. The show started the season with a surprise cameo from Charlize Theron in the form of a new version of Stormfront, and recently featured Seth Rogen as SirCumsAlot779, a man who pays to watch Crimson Countess perform explicit acts on camera.

New episodes of The Boys Season 3 drop Fridays on Prime Video.
