It's not every day that a crew member on the set of a television show mistakes lubricant for hand sanitizer -- but according to Jack Quaid, that's exactly what happened during the production of The Boys' long-awaited "Herogasm" episode.

During an interview with Variety, Quaid -- who plays Hughie Campbell on Prime Video's satirical superhero show -- discussed the unfortunate but hilarious mix-up, and how it led to his "favorite quote" from the set of The Boys. "It was the COVID season," he recalled, "so we had a lot of places where you have hand sanitizer, and I overheard a crew member say, 'Oh man, I got the lube bottle confused with the hand sanitizer bottle.' And he had just lube all over his hands."

Quaid continued, "You are never going to get that on any other show. It made me laugh so hard and made me feel really bad for that person. But that whole episode -- I'm never going to shoot anything like that again. And the fact that all the storylines wrapped up around that event are so interesting and cool, I think it's one of the best episodes we've ever done and I'm really proud of it."

Based on the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys initially premiered on Prime Video in 2019 and is currently in the midst of its third season (with a fourth on the way). The show follows the titular vigilantes, who work to keep corrupt superheroes in check -- by any means necessary. The most famous team of "supes" of them all is The Seven, which is controlled by Vought International.

The sixth and most recent episode of The Boys Season 3, "Herogasm," is based on Herogasm, a six-issue spinoff limited series by Ennis, John McCrea and Keith Burns. Set between the events of Ennis and Robertson's The Boys #30 and #31, Herogasm sees the Boys infiltrate Herogasm, an annual orgy attended by Vought-sponsored superheroes. Herogasm was ultimately collected as the fifth trade paperback volume of The Boys. The graphic novel (emphasis on "graphic") is as notorious as it is critically acclaimed, and its live-action adaptation was highly anticipated by fans.

New episodes of The Boys Season 3 drop Fridays on Prime Video.
