This article contains spoilers for The Boys Season 3, Episode 6 "Herogasm."

While The Boys' adaptation of the infamous "Herogasm" storyline was stuffed with raunchy moments and high-stakes fights, there was plenty of content that didn't make it into the final cut.

Speaking to TVLine, showrunner Eric Kripke revealed some of the moments the creative team wanted to include in the much-hyped episode but ultimately opted to exclude. "We just couldn’t pull off all the gags we wanted to pull off," Kripke explained. "I remember at some point there was discussion about some kind of aquatic, Creature from the Black Lagoon-type Supe in the pool, having sex underwater. That was discussed at one point, and I don’t think we could pull that off."

Kripke elaborates that one of the more memorable moments from "Herogasm" was initially intended as a reoccurring motif that would have left several members of The Boys drenched in bodily fluids. "We were going to make a running joke out of these massive firehoses of fluid that get sprayed," the creator said. "There was going to be a female one that was going to get sprayed all over Hughie and that was going to be a running joke. Then we just sort of ran out of time, and so it all kind of combined to the one on poor Mother’s Milk."

Based on the spinoff comic of the same name, written by Garth Ennis and illustrated by John McCrea and Keith Burns, the story sees a group of Vought-sponsored supes retreating to an exclusive vacation that allows them to indulge in their most viscerally debaucherous fantasies. While fans of the series responded positively to the episode, Kripke stated after its release that certain aspects were "over-hyped."

Regardless of the anticipation, The Boys cast has shared several stories of the outlandish shooting conditions required for "Herogasm." Series newcomer Jensen Ackles, who portrays Soldier Boy, teased that the episode caused long-term scarring for the show's crew. "I know I was just kind of very curious as to how that was going to work," Ackles said. "And even the director was like 'I don't know what I'm shooting anymore.' Our crew looked traumatized."

The Boys Season 3, as well as Seasons 1 and 2, is now streaming on Prime Video.
