WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for The Boys Season 2, Episode 7, "Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker," available now on Amazon Prime Video.

The latest episode of The Boys, "Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker" ended with the series' most shocking and bloody twist yet. At a congressional hearing where Dr. Vogelbaum was set to testify against Vought International, what was supposed to be a huge win for the Boys and the government turned into a literal bloodbath. Indeed, before Vogelbaum could testify, his head exploded -- literally. And it didn't stop there: heads kept popping left and right, creating a massive panic.

It appears Vogelbaum was the intended target, but a lot of others died as well. And the most interesting part is this isn't even the first time we've seen this power on display. So who is responsible for this carnage?

In the Season 2 premiere of The Boys, Mother's Milk, Frenchie and Hughie reached out to Susan Raynor, Billy Butcher's old CIA contact. In the first season of the series, Raynor helped the titular team fight Vought and the Seven as best she could, and she even helped keep their families safe. So in the second season premiere, they went to her to tell her what they had learned about the company creating super-terrorists.

Raynor was willing to help, and she hinted there was some kind of coup happening at Vought -- but before she could reveal anything else, her head exploded, just like all those heads at the congressional hearing.

At first, it was theorized this was somehow Stormfront's doing, given she's the Seven's newest recruit. But the immortal superhero doesn't appear to be the one behind it because she was in attendance at the hearing, and she looked just as confused as Homelander and everyone else in the room.

In both instances, it appears the victims were killed in an attempt to keep Vought safe, which means the person behind these attacks likely works for the company.

That this is probably the work of a Supe who has been kept hidden. But who could it be? Is it someone we've met before, or someone completely new?

For all we know, Vought's Stan Edgar could have superpowers of his own, abilities that he has kept secret all this time. But that's only just one possibility. Perhaps there's also another employee or someone else close to the company who is capable of this. Or perhaps it really is Stormfront, who has yet to reveal the full scope of her abilities.

For the time being, all we have are questions and theories, but the season finale is bound to reveal which Supe has the ability to make heads explode.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as the Female, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Aya Cash as Stormfront and Simon Pegg as Hughie's dad.
