WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for The Boys Season 2, Episode 8, "What I Know," available now on Amazon Prime Video.

The epic finale of the second season of Amazon Prime's The Boys concluded with the gruesome end of its best villain. The superhero show 's Stormfront was all but killed when her actions awoke the powers of Homelander's young son, Ryan. Yet, her survival is entirely possible, and there are several reasons to believe death would not be the end for the super-powered bigot, if she died at all.

Stormfront being lasered by Homelander

Stormfront certainly had every reason to lose her life during the events of the finale. Beat down by three different supes at once, stabbed in the eye by Becca Butcher and finally lasered to near-death by Ryan as his heat vision sawed off her limbs and left her mumbling in German on the ground, it was a miracle she didn't die right then and there. But the Nazi had already proven to be extremely resilient, and even when her body was visibly damaged by Homelander's heat vision, her wound seemed to heal rather quickly.

Accelerated regeneration is not an uncommon power for supes. The character Gecko introduced earlier in the series showcased the ability to regrow entire limbs after they were cut off. Other heroes like Kimiko and perhaps even Black Noir can bounce back from severe physical punishment. So, if Stormfront truly survived her final clash and is, as Homelander reported to the public, merely in custody, then it could be only a matter of time before she's back on her feet fighting for the right to hate.

But that does not even scratch the surface of just how weird her survival could get. In The Boys comics, the substance that gives supes their powers, Compound V, is said to have inherently regenerative properties. When the original Seven member Lamplighter is killed, Vought International manages to revive him because of the Compound V in his system, but for all intents and purposes he's a zombie. That could still happen to the show's Lamplighter, but if the series were to introduce that possibility, it would apply to Stormfront just as much as the pyromaniac.

This would mean that death itself is not the end for any of the supes. Whether or not Stormfront truly lived through her ordeal is open to debate, given how easily Homelander could be lying about her fate. But if the comics are any indication, then even death may not be the end of her story. And given the series' proclivity for putting its own spin on the source material's plot points, this could very well be the best way to bring her back.

Stormfront in The Boys

In the comics, the zombified Lamplighter accomplishes very little, but that could be radically different for Stormfront. Stormfront's militaristic alt-right fanbase would naturally gravitate toward conspiracy theories about her survival and what "really" happened to her, even if she doesn't heal on her own or isn't resurrected by Compound V.

If she were to truly return in the public eye, she could very well legitimize such theories. Stormfront previously touted just how influential and dangerous her followers could be, and while we already saw a hint of that, the worst may very well be yet to come.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko/The Female, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander and Aya Cash as Stormfront. Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
